Senior Territory Manager - Alberta & Saskatchewan
University of Alberta Farm, AlbertaThe Senior Territory Manager is responsible for the attainment of sales objectives for Taro/Sun products across assigned key accounts throughout Western Canada, with a focus on driving profitability, strategic growth, and account penetration. In addition to managing a defined territory, this individual will serve as the regional lead for strategic accounts, act as a mentor to other team members, and collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager to support the development and performance of the broader sales team.
This senior role demands a high level of market insight, account strategy, and leadership capability, with a proven ability to operate autonomously while contributing to team success. - Own key account strategy and performance within assigned high-value accounts across Canada with particular focus in Western Canada
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to maximize territory and key account sales, with quarterly reviews and adjustments to enhance performance
- Achieve and surpass territory sales and profitability targets vs budget
- Serve as a regional mentor, providing guidance, field coaching, and support to Territory Managers to foster continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager in developing regional initiatives, team training, and onboarding of new representatives
- Act as the primary point of contact for key pharmacy chains, distributors, and healthcare decision-makers, ensuring excellent service and relationship management
- Monitor and report on competitive activity, market trends, and account dynamics to inform internal stakeholders
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues and manage account-specific programs
- Ensure alignment with Taro/Sun brand strategies in customer messaging, trade spend, and pricing strategies
- Deliver presentations at regional and national meetings to share best practices and commercial updates
- Participate in trade shows, association events, and business reviews as a senior representative of the organization
- Maintain strong fiscal discipline by managing territory budgets, trade spend, and operational expenses
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, corporate policies, and GMP requirements
- Contribute to internal, regulatory, and customer audits as needed
- Work collaboratively within your region to share best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)
Report any complaints/adverse events received from customers to the Pharmacovigilance department within 1 business day
- Bachelor’s degree (Business or related field preferred)
- 5–8 years of sales experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar business-to-business retail environment
- Proven experience managing key accounts and executing successful account strategies
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and lead within a peer group or team setting
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and customer-centric approach
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Valid driver’s license in good standing; ability to travel regularly
- The ability to utilize internal support systems, perform in-depth sales analysis, and develop strategic business building plans for the territory
- Must be results-driven
- Able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
