Senior Materials Handler
Billerica, MassachusettsJob Summary:
Perform various logistics and material handling duties including picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting to support Distribution, Shipping, and Receiving. Support manufacturing regarding filling/stocking component inventory and SAP transactions as needed. Maintain warehouse to assure efficient logistics. Responsible for and oversees receiving all incoming packages, shipping all products and performing periodic cycle counts.
Area of Reponsibility:
Support all material requirements by different functional groups and customers
Pick, pack, and ship orders on a daily basis using SAP system to support customer requirements as well as meet company cost objectives
Create required paperwork and ship product to internal, external, and international partners
Stock and stage warehouse for delivery of incoming materials using SAP system
Issue requested material and components to manufacturing and packaging
Assist Material department as required in the expediting and rescheduling of material to meet or exceed company goals and objectives
Perform periodic counts on finished goods inventory and work to resolve any inventory discrepancies
Receive and log into SAP all incoming materials/product/deliveries
Executes Good Receipts transactions for goods and services in SAP
Performs data entry or paperwork to record inventory levels or shipping/receiving activity
Distribute incoming materials to the appropriate department as required
Follow ISO, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) procedures
Maintain accurate records of Finished and Raw Material Inventory
Package product for shipping
Publish Finished Goods Inventory reports
Assist with loading or unloading materials/packages
Operate forklift and other equipment with strong attentiveness to safety requirements
May assist in training other Materials Handlers
Perform warehouse housekeeping duties of designated areas
Fill/stock production material for manufacturing as required
Create and ship product to International destinations
Maintains a safe working environment free of safety hazards
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications and Experience:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent required
Work under limited supervision and follows specific procedures
Forklift safety and operation certification
Experience performing physical inventories and cycle configuration
Basic computer skills
Current Driver’s License and good driving record required
Safety Training – OSHA, hazardous materials, warehouse safety
Exhibit a high level of integrity and honesty
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) to both internal and external customers and suppliers required
Knowledge of computerized inventory, shipping and receiving systems required
Strong leadership skills
LEAN 6 Sigma familiarity/knowledge
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the transportation/warehouse industries
Experience with shipping (Domestic and International), receiving and general warehouse procedures in a Medical Device / Drug manufacturing environment
Demonstrated knowledge of transportation and warehousing processes and regulations
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
MS word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint experience
