Warehouse and Distribution Supervisor
Billerica, MassachusettsJob Summary:
Manage material movement throughout the plant including product/raw material in and out of the DEA vault area into manufacturing. Provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services as well as supervising staff. Coordinate product shipments to off-site warehouses. Ensure all system transactions are completed on a timely basis. Ensure all raw materials are received and handled according to cGMP and ensure that all employees in warehouse area adhere to cGMP practices.
Area of Responsibility:
To maintain Inventory of Materials available in Warehouse.
To review Batch Manufacturing Record and Packaging Supply Master Document in terms of dispensing of materials.
To handle and process Investigational Samples and return goods from customer.
To revised SOPs as per current practices and give training to individuals.
To inspect warehouse equipment and operations to review the maintenance, safety and sanitary conditions and coordinate the activities needed to correct problems and deficiencies.
To ensure that the procedures described in SOPs are being followed.
To coordinate the shipping and receiving of products and materials, check that method of shipment meets customer satisfaction and protect product quality.
To coordinate availability of materials, anticipate requirements and reorder in a timely manner.
To establish and implement program for proper handling of orders, receipt, storage and shipping of materials.
This is supervisory position with direct reports; therefore, this position will establish goals and objectives, prepare performance appraisals, monitor/review work product and coach/mentor direct reports.
Work Conditions:
Environmental related to manufacturing/production/warehouse environments:
Noise: Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction or possible injury to sense of hearing.
Fumes: Smoky or vaporous emissions, usually odorous, thrown off as the result of combustion or chemical reaction.
Odors: Unpleasant smells.
Gases: Examples include carbon monoxide and ozone.
Dust: Airborne particles of any kind, such as textile dust, wood, and silica.
Job Qualification and Experience:
Minimum of aBS in Science or related degree; degree in distribution, logistics, or transportation preferred.
Strong team building, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
Strong logical reasoning, numerical, technical, and IT skills as well as strong SAP skills.
Demonstrated excellent communication: verbal, written and presentation skills.
A self-starter with a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude.
A team building champion driving innovative cross functional synergies.
Excellent project management and problem solving skills
Minimum of nine (9) years with a minimum of three (3) years in the pharmaceutical industry in a similar role/function as well as experience with inventory control, material planning, and logistics experience, preferably within a pharmaceutical company environment.
