Job purpose
The main responsibility for this position is to perform method development, validation and transfer activities to support quality control development department.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing for assay and related substances using HPLC, GC, and other techniques following approved methods
- Assist in sample preparation and routine laboratory activities
- Support method development, validation, and transfer activities under supervision
- Execute testing of exhibit batch, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples
- Record and document analytical data accurately in accordance with GMP requirements
- Assist in investigations related to OOS, OOT, and deviations as assigned
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all laboratory documentation in compliance with GMP requirements
- Participate in laboratory housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Support preparation of protocols, test methods, and reports
- Generate, compile, and review analytical data for reporting purposes
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation readiness
- Participate in training programs and continuously develop technical skills
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet departmental goals
- Support internal audits and inspections as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)
Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory environment
- Familiarity with laboratory software such as LIMS or Empower is an asset
- Good written communication and basic report writing skills
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $56,500 to $71,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; RRSP savings plan; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
