Intern, Packaging

Job purpose
As part of Sun Pharma’s Packaging team, the Student will play a significant role in reviewing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other GMP documents under supervision of senior members of the Packaging team. The Student will work with Packaging team to identify the gaps in current SOPs and make necessary changes as required.
Duties and responsibilities
- As part of the Packaging team, you will work on reviewing and revising of multiple SOPs and other technical documents (i.e. work instructions, set-up forms etc.) to ensure compliance with GMP requirements.
- Under guidance of senior Packaging team members analyze the gaps in current SOPs and other technical documents and work diligently to close those gaps.
- Execute change controls to decommission equipment.
- Analyze information, develop and measure standard equipment performance metrics, design and optimize processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in 5S and Kaizens in Packaging
- Create an environment which continues to foster continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
- Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times
- Perform other tasks as required
Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)
Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day
Qualifications
- Enrolled in Engineering Program (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical) with a Post-Secondary Institution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with Maintenance, Production and Engineering teams
- Strong technical writing abilities with experience constructing technical requirements and specifications
- Well organized, good time management skills, detailed oriented and a self-starter
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
Working conditions
- Must be able to perform and work in a GMP Manufacturing plant environment
- This includes ascending/descending ladders and stairs and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Flexible to work during off business hours to support project deliverables
