Job purpose
The Warehouse Associate- III (Team Lead) co-ordinates and monitors the activities within the Warehouse, to ensure the safety, quality, productivity and training needs of the team members are met to achieve the goals defined for the warehousing department.
Duties and responsibilities
The position may focus on any of the following functions in the Warehouse as directed by the Taro Management group:
- Oversee the Warehouse operations functions at B130, B 132, B114 (and B126 as required) & ensure safe and efficient material movement as required to effectively support production and US Distribution
- Co ordinate with planning team for generation of process orders and allocate to team well in advance for picking.
- Ensure the required SAP transactions are completed in a timely manner to support accurate inventory management
- Organize workloads for the shift based on Finite Schedule for Packaging and Compounding and communicate the staging report to next shift.
- Coordinate and delegate sample request forms required for all departments
- Coordinate activities with the Warehousing Manager and Director
- Maintain a safe and secure operating environment within the warehouses. Handling of EHS incident and report real time through EHS incident report system.
- Maintenance of the warehouse housekeeping and housekeeping tasks as per SOP’s
- Ensure return materials are monitored and assigned within the shift
- Participate and conduct new employee training and coaching to respective team for continuous process improvement and better productivity.
- Coordinate cycle counts and complete inventory investigations
- Ensure that all production work orders are staged 48 hours at B-130 warehouse and one-week advance picking and staging at B-132 Warehouse.
- Delivered on a timely basis in order to support efficient production., improve the process and communication to avoid down time at production staging.
- Maintaining inventory location accuracy
- Cross train with warehousing staff to ensure back up for US Distribution and receiving of Bulk Tankers
- Ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines and SOPs are maintained
- Report and complete safety incident reports as required
- Conduct shift handover meeting to discuss shift status and potential issues with the next shift with shift end report.
- Review the production return materials / containers and ensure to use it as per FIFO process in production.
- Perform all Warehouse Associate duties and responsibilities (see Warehouse Associate job description)
- Complete all GMP Documentation correctly and in a timely manner. Review house keeping records, temperature monitoring report and freezer log book monthly basis.
- Complete all training assignments and maintain personal training records
- Participate in and/or lead Non-Conformance Investigations / QA observation at B-130 warehouse.
- Complete Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA’s)
- Initiate, and follow through with actions required to close Change Controls
- Other duties as assigned
Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)
Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day
Qualifications
- An effective team player with proven organizational, and interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be self-directed, able to work well under pressure, able to work alone and in groups
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Able to take on additional tasks where required
- Ability to analyze, perform root cause analysis, involve appropriate stakeholders in the decision-making process
- Knowledge of standard Warehousing practices
- Knowledge of standard material handling practices including fork lift and pallet truck operations
- Knowledge of standard warehouse safety rules and skills in enforcing company safety rules
- Fork Lift Certification is required.
- Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office;
- Experience with integrated MRP/ERP systems with RF capabilities an asset
- High School diploma required
- Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, transportation experience
- Minimum 1 year operating with an ERP/ SAP system including material movements and inventory control.
- Strong pharmaceutical cGMP background.
- Ability to make decisions within the scope of warehouse operations as necessary to maintain material flow
- Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes and suggest corrective actions
- Ability to investigate operating problems (NCIs), determine root causes and suggest corrective actions
Working conditions
- Maybe contacted through telephone during off regular hours regarding “urgent” or emergency issues
- Warehouse Office environment with majority of time spent in the warehouse or production areas
- Work overtime, including weekends, when business required
- Exposed to noise from equipment

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $42,500 to $53,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; RRSP savings plan; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
