Summary
Develops and implements optimal, cost effective manufacturing operations and capital projects in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Works closely with R&D Personnel, Quality Assurance, Engineering Manager and Senior API Engineers to ensure accuracy of design. Attention to detail is paramount. Assist in the design of chemical unit operations and management of plant utilities. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training. Is accountable for all facets of project including budget and employee safety.
Job Duties
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including the essential assembly methods and production equipment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Manages each assigned and approved project such that it is completed in a timely and efficient manner and on budget, while ensuring that all details have been completed.
- Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
- Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
- Monitors the activities of all contract or staff employees completing project work to insure optimal performance while insuring all safety and engineering standards are adhered to.
- Manages maintenance, repairs, and replacement of plant utility systems such as: boilers, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, RO water systems, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Five (5) years experience in engineering project management and facilities management (boiler, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, buildings, etc.)
- Experience working with contractors.
