Brand Marketing Manager
Hawthorne, New YorkThe Manager, Brand Marketing will serve as the manager of Taro’s current and future Branded platforms. He/she will be responsible for monitoring brand health and competitive activity, coordinating projects and launch plans for new SKU rollout, partnering with the Sales team to create compelling selling stories and participating in business development activities focused on adding new brands to our portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop overall strategy for Taro brands including in-store and online to meet long-term business goals.
- Partner with Sales team to create compelling brand and category stories to expand distribution and secure new item sell-in. Preparation of selling decks and materials to support sales team. Work with e-commerce marketing manager for promotional strategies on the e-commerce platform
- Develop comprehensive promotional programs to help to establish brand awareness, equity and sales success for brick and mortar stores as well as e-commerce platform.
- Own the development, monitoring and coordination of promotional budget spending.
- Directly responsible for strategy, execution, and measurement of owned & earned media and agencies/vendors
- Spearhead initiatives such as packaging, merchandising, pricing, and communication development.
- Make use of market data (Neilsen, IRI, etc.) to identify new opportunities for SKU and portfolio development.
- Perform consumer insight research and activity to identify research needs and establish programs designed to meet those needs, including deeper consumer understanding and innovation planning.
- Partner with label development, regulatory and marketing to ensure packaging and promotional materials are up to date & relevant.
- Participate in P&L management and manage monthly sales forecasting & reporting
- Develop brand briefs and manage timelines for content development for websites, digital and social media.
- Participate in the project management process with cross functional teams and develop and execute launch plans to ensure in market success.
- Conduct brand reviews, analyze and track product line performance to identify product line improvement, new product and promotion effectiveness improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain a rolling 12mo communication calendar for brands, retail and ecomm
- Performs other marketing management duties as required.
- Participate in trade shows as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in brand management in the CPG industry and a passion for health & wellness and personal care.
- Experience working with Brick & Mortar Stores as well as E-commerce platform.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in helping to drive the P&L and working with cross-functional teams - a true "Team Player".
- Knowledge and experience in working with all mass trade channels (Grocery, Drug, Mass, Natural, Specialty, E-Commerce). Natural industry experience a plus.
- Strong fundamental business skills as well as the energy level and "disruption mindset"
(entrepreneurial spirit and innovative sensibility) - Ability to change information into insights for actionable growth
- Strong background working with syndicated data such as IRI
- Energy, passion and a strong desire to build a transformational brand in today's marketplace - a strong "can do!" attitude
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, deadline driven environment
- Experience working on the development of CPG packaging, display vehicles and promotional materials.
- Experience marketing CPG products via ecommerce and natural space a plus.
The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $98,000 to $119,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
The compensation and benefits described above are subject to the terms and conditions of any governing plans, policies, practices, agreements, or other materials or documents as in effect from time to time, including but not limited to terms and conditions regarding eligibility. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company, or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
