Business Analyst
Hawthorne, New YorkThe Business Analyst will be a strategic and analytical person who will lead financial planning, business performance analysis, and market intelligence efforts for our DTC and B2B business. This role involves preparing detailed budget and LE financial plans, monthly sales and performance reports, and ensuring data integrity across sales and SAP platforms. The ideal candidate will apply a strong financial and entrepreneurial mindset to analyze market dynamics, product opportunities, portfolio optimization, and margin enhancement strategies.
The Business Analyst will conduct competitive research and consumer insights analyses to support business growth initiatives and partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Finance—to drive data-informed strategic decisions. Additionally, the Business Analyst will manage special projects and strategic initiatives, coordinate executive-level meetings, and prepare impactful presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare budget and LE financial (unit and dollar) plans with DTC and B2B business teams based on performance, channel plans, market dynamics and new product launches, and prepare powerpoint presentations with rationale.
- Prepare monthly sales and business performance reports for global business analyzing actuals vs. budget with explanations.
- Ensure data integrity across multiple sales platforms (eg eCommerce site and SAP).
- Analyze information with a financial and entrepreneurial view– identifying relevant, actionable analyses to add product expansion opportunities, SKU rationalization, portfolio optimization, margin analyses to enable the company to grow.
- Undertake research and track market trends and developments in dermatology for both the US and internationally for competitive intelligence purposes. Gather, analyze and leverage consumer insights and data to both visualize and optimize initiative for Alchemee.
- Partner with cross functional teams to conduct and facilitate quantitative analyses to support Alchemee’s DTC, Marketing, Product and Supply Chain departments with strategic and financial decisions.
- Guide the scope and implementation of special projects and strategic initiatives, including the development and project management of special projects, as determined by the Head of Business.
- Provide support to the Head of Business for the convening of a range of meetings on short- or long-term projects of strategic importance. This may include preparing presentations, developing meeting agendas, drafting briefing papers, and ensuring appropriate and effective communications with participants.
- Compiles, analyzes, translates, and presents data to management.
- Constructs forecast models based on business data and market knowledge and is able to present recommendations.
- Collaborates with Marketing, Finance and Management to build financial views including P&Ls and is able to present recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other similar discipline, required.
- 3-5 years of work experience in finance, investment banking, or another similar analytical field, required.
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Experience with DTC (Direct to consumer) and consumer packaged goods Retail businesses preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
- Ability to draw conclusions from information, determine root cause of problems, and recommend solutions.
- Strong Excel and data management skills including experience using the latest specialized software products pertaining to Marketing Analysis, data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to respond effectively and in a timely manner to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to top management or public groups.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct.
- Results focused, with a sense of curiosity, an open mind and a desire to make a difference and have fun.
- Ability to work successfully in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Self-starter, naturally inquisitive, ability to think independently.
- Proficient with MS Office, including, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $88,500 to $98,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
