Sales Associate
Hawthorne, New YorkThe Associate, Sales is responsible for direct contact with national customer accounts for the company’s Taro and Ohm Label Brand for the purpose of increasing sales and managing all aspects of customer relationships while meeting all reporting, budgeting, and forecasting requirements for customer group. Supports the growth and management of both Taro and Ohm portfolios requiring knowledge of multiple internal systems and collaboration across many function departments within the organization (i.e. Sales, Pricing & Contracts, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory and Government Pricing).
Duties and responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of Taro and Ohm portfolio, competitive dynamics, customer landscape and strong understanding of relationships between wholesalers, distributors, retailers and direct/indirect sales channels
- Responsible to support sales, forecasting, planning of future goals, and budgetary aspects of assigned territory to maximize gross margin and net sales
- Support both growth of the current customer base along with identifying new customers for the organization
- Ability to analyze sales and market trends of Taro and Ohm and competitive manufacturer products
- Timely gathering of market prices of current and future launched Taro products
- Active participation in the launch of new products, such as gathering prospective customer’s utilization data in a timely manner and sharing that with the pricing team
- Interact with Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Operations to manage all aspect of sales.
- Participate with Pricing and Contracts department in responding to customer Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and Right of First Refusal (ROFR’s) from customer base
- Support the implementation of approved promotional/marketing plans to obtain distribution for new products and maximize sales.
- Monitor account/product sales to ensure inventory is sold through before it becomes short dated
- Collaborate with Finance to track and monitor receivable balances of customer accounts past due
- Initiate and lead regular sales meetings with customers to discuss current and new products, supply chain updates
- Attend annual tradeshows, conferences to meet with existing and new customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.)
- 2+ years Account Management experience working with direct contacts to industry buyers
- Working knowledge of consumer product distribution channels and classes of trade preferred. Experience with relevant consumer/seasonality trends a plus
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Intermediate experience with Excel and ability to use tool for forecasting
- Ability to work under limited guidance with periodic review; ability to interpret data into a persuasive strategic recommendation or narrative
- Ability to collaborate and able to work cross-functionally across departments and varying levels of the organization
