MSTG Scientist I

We are seeking a MSTGScientist I to support process development, exhibit batch execution, process qualification activities, and manufacturing support within a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Technical Services teams while contributing to the development, optimization, validation, and successful transfer of solid dosage pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development & Optimization:
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE), process optimization studies, and process qualification batches.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret process data using statistical tools to support process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support product development projects from conceptual studies through process characterization and qualification activities.
- Participate in cleaning validation studies and related process development initiatives.
Technical Documentation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout various stages of product development.
- Prepare and review:
- Master Batch Records (MBRs)
- Exhibit Batch Protocols
- Pre-Validation Documentation
- Process Validation Protocols
- Validation Reports
- Technical Study Reports
- Ensure all documentation meets cGMP and regulatory requirements.
Manufacturing & Quality Support:
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to manufacturing operations.
- Investigate process challenges and recommend scientifically sound solutions to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
- Support technology transfer, scale-up, and validation activities as needed.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to support successful production and compliance outcomes.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and support compliance-related investigations.
- Assist with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), commitments, and Change Control activities.
- Participate on cross-functional teams to address technical challenges, improve processes, and strengthen collaboration across departments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and product quality.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Pharmacy
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemistry
- Other relevant scientific discipline
- Minimum four (4) years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 1-2 years experience with Solid Oral Dosage (OSD) product development and manufacturing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including:
- Word
- Excel
- Project
- PowerPoint
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated individual with a hands-on approach and a proactive mindset.
- Intermediate English proficiency (CEFR B1+ or equivalent).
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of process validation, cleaning validation, and process characterization activities.
- Experience utilizing statistical tools for data analysis and process evaluation.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based within a pharmaceutical manufacturing and production facility and requires regular interaction with manufacturing operations.
The work environment may include exposure to:
- Manufacturing equipment and production noise
- Dust, odors, fumes, and gases
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Chemical processing environments
- Manufacturing-related safety hazards requiring adherence to established safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate office and manufacturing environments, including standing, walking, reaching, and moving throughout production areas.
- Ability to frequently lift or move lightweight materials up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, safety glasses/goggles, and safety shoes.
Travel:
- Up to 10% travel may be required.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $75,500 to $86,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan, and may be eligible for the Long Term Incentive Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
