A Sun Pharma National Sales Director for Ophthalmology is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire ophthalmic sales team across the United States, driving strategic sales initiatives, maximizing market share for Sun Pharma's ophthalmic product portfolio, and achieving ambitious sales targets within the ophthalmology market by effectively managing a team of Regional Sales Managers and their respective sales representatives while collaborating with cross-functional departments like Marketing, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, and Market Access.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales strategy for Sun Pharma's ophthalmic product line, aligning with overall company objectives and market trends.
Team Management:
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing national sales team of ophthalmic sales representatives, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Sales Performance Monitoring:
Track and analyze key sales metrics and KPI’s to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key ophthalmology healthcare providers, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and managed care organizations.
Market Access Initiatives:
Collaborate with the market access team to ensure optimal product access and reimbursement strategies within the ophthalmology market.
Promotional Activities:
Oversee the development and implementation of effective sales promotional materials and programs to educate healthcare professionals about Sun Pharma's ophthalmic products.
Training and Development:
Provide ongoing sales training to the team on product knowledge, therapeutic areas, market dynamics, and sales techniques.
Budget Management:
Manage sales budget allocation and ensure efficient resource utilization across the national sales team.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in science, business, or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience: Proven track record of success in pharmaceutical sales leadership roles with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and key customer segments. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Leadership Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Market Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of the ophthalmology market, including competitor landscape, key and reimbursement dynamics.
Compliance: Commitment to ethical sales practices and adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
