Associate Maintenance, Repairs and Operations
Brampton, OntarioGeneral Summary:
The Associate, MRO Parts is accountable to the Maintenance and Continuous Improvement Manager and is responsible for all aspect of inventory management as it relates to MRO related items, maintenance parts, and equipment. This includes sourcing, procuring, stocking, inventory management and kitting of maintenance parts and supplies. The Associate, MRO Parts will develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors to achieve a state of “having the right part, at the right time, of the right quality, and at the right price”.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain and monitor CMMS data for MRO parts
- Purchase MRO items to support plant production and maintenance departments for a 3-shift operation
- Inform stakeholders of any problems, delays, etc. that could affect asset uptime
- Manage and track requisition, procurement, receipt, and storage of all MRO materials
- Own and ensure good housekeeping of the MRO parts room and Vertical Lift Module
- Manage stock inventories and locations, control inventory, consumables, tools, parts, and shop supplies to support equipment maintenance and repairs
- Identify alternative vendors or products that meet the specifications (like for like replacements)
- Manage re-orders, partial orders, delayed orders, etc.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and material masters for all items that are deemed critical spares
- Develop central and local storage and stocking solutions to meet business requirements
- Establish shelf life and PM program for stored materials and components
- Work closely with operations and procurement representatives to determine best items, suppliers, and prices to purchase in support of company goals
- Determine most cost-effective and efficient methods for ordering (e.g. bundle orders)
- Create and maintain MRO processes including KPI’s and reports within and across departments to provide a reliable storeroom of critical spare parts
- Perform daily/ weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- ERP Systems - Proven experience in ordering, planning & inventory management
- Must be highly proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Must be able to lift items of 50lbs.
Background and Experience
- Minimum of two years of technical college
- Two years’ experience in manufacturing with MRO/ maintenance parts management.
- Experience in equipment/system parts and components including, industrial controls, electronics, position controls, mechanical, electro-mechanical, power transmission, pumps, motors, valves, etc.
- Experience and understanding of the importance in maintaining an accurate parts inventory level and accuracy in a Maintenance Management Program
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform and review work in a manufacturing plant environment
- This includes ascending/descending ladders and stairs and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Duties may involve internal/external work in various climate/weather conditions associated with a manufacturing plant at any time.
- Expected to respond to plant emergencies when required
- After hours and weekend work as required
- Travel as required
